New Bitesize on nationality from 1961 Census

A new population bitesize is now available with data on residents born overseas and living in Oxfordshire in 1961 and 2011.

• In 1961 in Oxfordshire, 7% of the population was born overseas. By 2011 this had increased to 14%.
• A change in the categorisation of place of birth makes broad comparisons difficult, but nationality data shows a large increase in the proportion of people of European nationality and a fall in the proportion of people of Irish nationality.
