Census 2021 shows that we have 288,000 residential households in Oxfordshire. On average there are 2.4 people per household. In addition, 31,000 persons live in communal establishments.
In Oxfordshire:
There are currently 78,000 persons living alone in Oxfordshire, of which 35,000 are elderly (66+).
47% of Oxfordshire residents are married or in a registered civil partnership. (This compares to 44% in England and Wales). Of those, 0.8% are in same-sex relationships.
62% of residents are 'living in a couple': either cohabiting, married, or in a civil partnership. (This is more than England & Wales, where the figure is 58%). Of these, 1.6% are same-sex couples.
