Census 2021 shows that we have 288,000 residential households in Oxfordshire. On average there are 2.4 people per household.
In addition, 31,000 persons live in communal establishments.
There are currently 78,000 persons living alone in Oxfordshire, of which 35,000 are elderly (66+).
47% of Oxfordshire residents are married or in a registered civil partnership. (This compares to 44% in England and Wales). Of those, 0.8% are in same-sex relationships.
62% of residents are 'living in a couple': either cohabiting, married, or in a civil partnership. (This is more than England & Wales, where the figure is 58%). Of these, 1.6% are same-sex couples.
