Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment

Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment

The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) is a statutory report on all the NHS community pharmacies in Oxfordshire. It is produced by the Health and Wellbeing Board every three years or more frequently.

The PNA is used to review local community pharmaceutical services and evaluate whether they are adequately meeting the needs of the population. NHS England uses the PNA to work out if any changes might be needed in local pharmacy services.

The Oxfordshire PNA was due to be renewed in April 2021, but this was delayed for one year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The next Oxfordshire Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is scheduled to be published in 2025. If substantial changes occur to community pharmaceutical services in Oxfordshire, a Supplementary Statement will be published.
